Privacy Policy
ODA ("we", "us") is a voice-first dating app for Albanians and the Albanian diaspora. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect only what the ritual needs, we never sell your data, we never show ads, and photo reveal can never be bought — by anyone, including advertisers, because there are none.
What we collect
- Account — your phone number (used to sign in with a one-time code) and app language.
- Profile — first name, age, gender and who you're looking for, your photos, your 20–30 second voice introduction, your family's region of origin, where you were raised, the city you live in, dialect comfort, and your relationship intent.
- Conversations — the text and voice messages you exchange inside the app.
- Besa & Zjarri activity — how conversations are opened, closed and kept warm. This powers the anti-ghosting honor score and the earned photo reveal.
- Device — a push-notification token (only if you allow notifications) and your locale.
We do not collect your precise GPS location, your contacts (the optional "hide me from my contacts" feature hashes numbers on your device — raw contact data never leaves your phone), or any advertising identifiers.
How we use it
- To curate your three nightly introductions (roots, city, intent, besa).
- To enforce the earned photo reveal — blurred photo variants are generated and selected on our servers, never on your device.
- To keep the Oda safe: photo and voice moderation, report review, and blocking.
- To send the one nightly knock at 20:00, if you allow notifications.
What we never do
- We never sell or rent your personal data.
- We show no third-party advertising and use no ad trackers.
- We never let anyone pay to see your unblurred photos.
Who can see what
Other members see your first name, age, roots region, city, your voice introduction and your written answers. Your photos are shown blurred, and become clearer only as your conversation with that specific person earns it — or if you choose to open the door early. Your phone number is never visible to anyone.
Where your data lives
Your data is stored on our own infrastructure hosted on Google Cloud in the European Union (Frankfurt region). Text messages you send for sign-in codes are delivered by an SMS provider that processes your phone number for delivery only.
Safety and moderation
Every profile and conversation has Report and Block. Reports are reviewed by a human within 24 hours. Photos and voice recordings pass automated screening before other members can see or hear them. Blocking is silent and permanent: the blocked person is never notified and can never reach you again.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account exists. Deleting your account (Settings → Delete account) permanently erases your profile, photos, voice recordings, conversations and honor ledger. This is immediate and cannot be undone. Reports you filed may be retained in anonymized form for safety.
Your rights
You can access, correct or delete your data at any time — deletion is built into the app, and everything else via email. If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the rights provided by the GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection). Write to us and a person will answer.
Age
ODA is for adults. You must be at least 21 years old to create an account.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will tell you inside the app before the change takes effect.
